UNLOG 6 RELEASE PARTY / LABEL LAUNCH
Après bientôt 5 ans passés à documenter la scène « future beats » partout dans le monde, par notre blog, nos podcasts, ou encore nos compilations Unlog Complex, notre collectif est heureux de vous annoncer la concrétisation d’un projet de longue date : la naissance du label Unlog.
Le 26 Mai prochain, le bar – lounge Le Bleury (Montréal voir carte ci-dessous) accueillera notre soirée de lancement de 5h à 9h, l’occasion de se réunir, de (re)découvrir notre univers musical avec des sets de DJ Noyl, Engone Endong (sortie exclusive de son prochain projet le 18 Juin prochain) et Bassilus C (à noter la date du 28 Mai également, pour sa performance live au festival Mutek, et la sortie de son LP le 8 Juillet prochain)
Vous aurez également l’occasion d’avoir un aperçu exclusif des sorties à venir, notamment notre prochaine compilation Unlog Complex 06, dont la date de sortie est fixée au 6 Juin prochain.
After almost 5 years spent documenting the « future beats » scene all around the world, through the present blog, our podcast or our Unlog Complex compilations, our collective is proud to introduce to you our new activity as a music label.
On May 26th, the Bleury bar / lounge (Montreal, see map below) will be hosting our launching event from 5 to 9, the best opportunity to gather among the musical vibes we love, with sets from DJ Noyl, Engone Endong (who’s releasing his next project with us on June 18th) and Bassilus C (this one will be a DJ set, as you’ll be able to see his world premiere live performance 2 days later for the Mutek Festival). His first album will also be released on Unlog on July 8th on Unlog)
It’s also a good opportunity to hear a preview of our Unlog Complex 06, set to be released on June 6th.

Tarzan – My kinda lady LP
We got the Tarzan and Jane of offbeat, just swung in on the vine this morning mate!
Among various music projects and monikers such as Miqi O.,Hiccup, Bawns Bawns, Rebond, Projet O. Art Ensemble (Stefan Ferry – Laure O. – Nataly Szylman – Miqi O.), Electrons Libres (Zo aka La Chauve-souris & Miqi O.), La Boocle (yes, we’re gonna name them all), and all his collaborative projects LTDLL (Le Trou de La Lune – very rich show radio by the way), Honeyboxxx, Le Retour du Boogie, Boogieboxxx Dj’s…
Today, Tarzan is releasing his second project on Cosmonostro, called My Kinda Lady. 5 tracks, and the style is in the straight continuity of his first EP L’homme singe : a bumpy and original beat deconstruction, applied to the unlimited resource of sounds a « man in the wild » thematic can allow. The result is a pure and melodic primal vibe, somehow refreshing as so many offbeat / wonky projects we’re used to hear these days are stuck somewhere far in space*.

« Tarzan is the new music effort of french producer Miqi O.
As a human child lost in the jungle and raised by gibbons, Tarzan jump gracefuly from african percussions to blues samples, climbing on every branch of roots and tribal music : amerindian song, jungle noises, ethnic instrument, animal scream… all blended in a modern abstract-offbeat-hip-hop way, in the middle of disturbed synthetizer and heavy wonky beats.
Layer one upon the other, like different stage of a subtropical forest, his music is full of surprise, evolving all the time, and it’s hard to know which animal you’re going to cross on this trip, and if it’s going to be a friendly meeting.
His powerful voices lead the progression, like Tarzan’s yell lead the jungle, and his wild song build the story of a naturalist expedition, making us discovering these unknown landscape.
On stage like in a tree, Tarzan is the king of the jungle. Playing acrobatic live beats, his simian moves on pad controlers bring him to a tribal and infectious dance, challenging tigers, lights and snakes to awake our forgotten animal knowledge. »
