SSWlll

Switzon S. Wigfall, III, also known as SSWIII, is the graphic designer / animator who created the visual we used as a cover for our compilation. Initially, as we were still gathering tracks and starting to envision the global feeling of the project, we’ve been introduced to him and his work through close friends who follow his daily artwork series he publishes on his Facebook page. Maybe it was the colors, maybe his interpretation of geometry… but while exploring his visual world frame by frame, his « Everyday » design (Day 226 – « Just another chip on my shoulder ») caught our attention and seemed to be the perfect echo to what we’d heard at that point.

« In a few weeks I’ll be releasing my 2nd official vj pack (all of my animations for the pack released again on a Creative Commons License as « open source files » to learn from and play around with for your own personal / professional projects).

Also working on my first music video ever for a good friend of mine « Khari Lucas » who goes by the name of « Contour » who is a crazy talented electronic musician and producer based out of Houston, Texas (originally from Charleston, South Carolina) who specializes in a mix of electronica, soul, hip-hop and and an even more mix of other musical genres. I love working with him because as an artist and animator I see visuals as soon as I hear how he mixes the electronic sounds together with an unstoppable force of a deep funky electronic groove with a combination of smooth and hard punching soul beats that hit hard along with a sweet baseline.

The music video I am currently working on as we speak, and should be done and released to the world by late February, with another one for Contour on the way. »

9th cloud – Scallettamento

 

Be he alone or with his faithful henchmen, 9th cloud has been wandering with ease for more than a decade the skies of electronic musics.
Self-taught and quite unconventional musician – but a genuine audiovisual engineer – he compiles, twists, digests and appropriates many influences coming as well from jazz as from hip-hop, without ever moving away from electronica.

After having experienced his formula for success in his first press-acclaimed album A Monkey in a Yellow Hat in 2004, he made his work more intimate and gives birth to the Delicate Sounds in 2007.

In 2012, with 43 sunsets, 9th cloud takes in the hip hop mentors and puts beatmakers into orbit for a bleeped ballade on a moving and robotic tomorrow.
From arid landscapes to subtle sound structures, 9th cloud turns light into music to light up the electronic scene with a new wave.

• The track Scalettamento, featured in our compilation, is also part of the live project Prism, A/V collaboration between 9th cloud and the visual artist Cyril Meroni.

Woodwire – Nebula

France has been a really prolific place lately. As a new « eclectronic » scene seems to emerge there, we’ve had the chance to feature artists such as Nikitch, Everydayz, Miqi-O or Sicaa on our previous compilations.  Let’s go deeper and discover more :  Woodwire is one of them.

Producer and live performer, Woodwire has a very unique stellar and visual sound, inspired trip hop and artists such as Baths, Prefuse 73, or Shigeto.

He’s been sharing the stage with IVVVO, Tarzan a.K.a Miqi O, Auriculaire (Ex Kaly Live Dub), Kuna Maze, Dubmentalist, Dalhas Umaï, and many others.

Bassilus C – As giants fall

One of the peaks of enthusiasm and positive feedbacks we’ve received about the Unlog Complex 04 was centered on its closing track ,This is why I can’t have nice things by Bassilus C.  One EP later, he’s joined us again with As Giants Fall, a Hisaishi-esque keyboard mood framed within a 3/4 lightweight yet efficient drum beat.

Bassilus C is the latest solo project from Archibald Singleton, half of The Gulf Stream project. A remix EP based on his album Euler State is set to be released on early 2015.
